The displaced people from Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), Abu Rasin (Zarkan) and Tal Tamr, continue suffering in the city of Hasakah, where it's safer than their areas, which are now controlled by the Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups. While some areas in northeastern Syria are still witnessing clashes and battles in light of violations by the Turkish side and its affiliated opposition groups, despite the cease-fire decisions made during the past weeks, without an implementation on the ground.
Dozens of schools which have been transformed into centers for those IDPs in the city of Hasakah, lack the most basic elements of life, as a result of the withdrawal of the majority of the international organizations.
Kamina Khalil, a displaced woman from Manajir, south of Ras Al-Ain, complained about the lack of blankets, by saying: "There're no mattress, we sleep on the ground, there are no detergents or washing or cooking materials.” Khalil explained to North-Press that they had been sleeping in the open air for 15 days until they moved into a school, describing the situation in the school as "bad”, because of the lack of all the basic necessities of bedding and others.
Mariam, another internally displaced woman from Manajir, south of Ras al-Ain, also complained about the lack of support, she said: "We've been sleeping without blankets for 10 days. Often they give us one meal, even drinking water is not served properly," said Mariam, who is pregnant. "There is nothing available at this center," she added.
While another displaced woman from Abu Rasin, said that they were handed 3 blankets and 3 sponges when they were in the sheltering center in Safia town for her 12-member-family, adding that they brought those stuff with them, stressing that they haven't got any blankets since they got to the center."
In an earlier interview with North-Press, with the head of the organizations' affairs office in al-Jazira region, Khaled Ibrahim, he pointed out that the situation in some schools that have become shelters is deplorable, as a result of the instability of the displacement situation and the change that has taken place because of the ongoing fighting in Abu-Rasin and Tal Tamr areas. And their countryside. Ibrahim pointed out that the local organizations and associations have provided the most assistance, despite their weak capabilities. "While international organizations, unfortunately, withdrew outside of Syria since the beginning of the Turkish military invasion," he said.
Attacks by Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups prompted residents of Ein Issa, Tal Abyad (Gre Spi), and Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) to head into safer areas in Raqqa, Hasakah, Qamishli, and other areas far from the military operations.
It is noteworthy that the city of Hasakah and its countryside have received thousands of IDPs from the areas of Ras al-Ain and its countryside, since the start of the Turkish military invasion in the region on the 9th of last October, as it caused a humanitarian disaster in northeastern Syria.
