Syrian President Bashar al-Assad described Turkish President Erdogan as “a thief who stole factories, wheat and oil, and today he is stealing lands,” stressing that when the “aggression” began in northern Syria, “we communicated with various political and military forces to repel the aggression,” he said.
“Communication with various political and military forces on ground was our initial step, and we said we were ready to support any group that resists,” Assad said.”It is not a political decision, rather, it’s a constitutional and national duty, and if we don’t do so, we don’t deserve the homeland,” he added.
Moreover, al-Assad said that all Syrian territories are of the same importance, but “the military situation on the ground is a top priority.”
He also pointed to the need to unite and coordinate with all political and military forces, saying: “When we are subjected to aggression or theft we must stand with each other and coordinate among one another.”
Regarding the situation in Idlib, the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said: “We say that the battle of Idlib is the basis for resolving chaos and terrorism in all areas of Syria.”
On Tuesday, the Syrian president inspected the front lines in the town of al-Habeet in the southern countryside of Idlib in northern Syria.
