Raqqa Civil Council launches a new rehabilitation project

Raqqa Civil Council held a ceremony on Friday afternoon to honor the cleaning staff in the People’s Municipality in Raqqa and the electricians of the Energy and Communications Committee of Raqqa Civil Council, as they received cards of gratitude by the Council.
The director of the tenth sector of the electricity of Raqqa Eng. Issa al-Hussein, told North-Press: “This ceremony is held on the occasion of starting the rehabilitation of the first and second electricity sectors in the city of Raqqa, which surround the city, it starts from al-Sawamaa square in the eastern neighborhoods within the archaeological wall of Raqqa, including the neighborhoods of the old mosque, and Saif al-Dawla”.
“This is a tribute for the cleaning staff for their tireless efforts to make the city of Raqqa the most beautiful city,” said Abdulsalam al-Ismail, the director of Cleaning Committee of the People Municipality in Raqqa.
Al-Ismail pointed out that this ceremony is the first of its kind for the cleaning staff in Raqqa this year, and it will be repeated for many times, “we have noticed a positive impact on the people of Raqqa, because of the conduct work by the cleaning staff, through their role in caring of streets and neighborhoods cleanliness,” he said.
Abd Maqtash, a cleaning worker in Raqqa parks, was pleased with the ceremony, and hoped that such an event would be held from time to another.
“Although I am over 52 years old and diabetic, I work hard and diligently to keep the park in which I supervise clean”, Abd Maqtash said.
He pointed out that he supervises the cleanliness of the children’s park and Jawad Anzour park in Raqqa, noting that the salary which he receives from the municipality is good, as he said.
It’s worth mentioning that the cleaning staff of the People’s Municipality in Raqqa includes 232 employ, supervised by 20 observers and 9 administrators.
