Avoiding floods, rehabilitating rain torrents and bridges in Jabal Kezwan

The Municipality of People in the town of Tal Tamr, northeastern Syria has started implementing a project to rehabilitate and maintain rain channels, bridges and worn roads in Mount Kezwan (Abdul Aziz region).
The member of the technical department in the municipality of Tal Tamr, Koran Muhammad told North-Press that, they have started rehabilitation work and restoration of rain torrents in the region of Jabal Kezwan in order to absorb the floods formed by rain and to facilitate the traffic.
Muhammad said that heavy rainfall during the past winter and the formation of floods, led to significant damage to public roads and most of the waterways, stressing that the rehabilitation of the roads will end before winter.
The member of the technical department noted that, they will work on the rehabilitation of 13 waterways, 7 of them in the western part and 6 in the southern part of the region, including the maintenance of bridges and paving worn roads, and the maintenance will be completed during a period of approximately two and a half months, at an estimated cost of about 50 million SYP.
It is said that during last winter, heavy floods caused material damage in the villages of Jabal Abdul Aziz and drifted and demolished parts of mud houses and cut off roads.
It is noteworthy that, the Autonomous Administration has allocated 42 billion SYP to implement service projects in its regions, according to a plan of action for the current year, which includes paving roads, maintenance of bridges and sewage networks.
