“Rojava Film Commune” Foundation and the Democratic Student Movement continue the activity of “Mobile Cinema” event by showing “The Child” film by Charlie Chaplin, and the animated film “Free Spirits” in the villages of Qamishli.
During the event, the animated film “Free Spirits” was shown in the village of Qaramana (10km west of Darbasiyah) on Thursday, which was attended by hundreds of children and dozens of men and women in the village.
Hoger Qolan, a member of the foundation said that: “This is the 17th village where these two films have been shown”, adding: “The goal of showing these films in the villages is to allow people who lack cultural and artistic activities”.
Qolan pointed out that they will move to the villages of Hasakah and the villages of the Arab component in the region, from Tal Kojar to the villages of Tabqa, noting that their foundation is preparing a larger project for showing films for children inside schools, which will be implemented over a year, as he said.
It is noteworthy that “Rojava Film Commune” Foundation and the Democratic Student Movement launched the “Mobile Cinema” event on July 10th to show films in the villages of north and east of Syria. The foundation is working on the production of films and documentaries, and is concerned with spreading the culture of interest in cinema in the regions of northern Syria.
