Citizens of the city of Kobani, northern Syria suffer the lack of diesel and gasoline in the petrol stations, which leads to congestion, where people are forced to stand in long queues for several hours in order to obtain fuel for their vehicles.

Abdul-Salam Sheikho who lives in Kobani told North-Press that citizens “suffer the lack of gasoline and diesel since the end of Eid al-Adha holiday”, pointing out that they leave their work to wait at petrol stations for three or four hours in order to provide fuel for their cars and motorcycles.

The crisis has increased
Sheikho added: ”Compared to the rest of northern and eastern Syria, the fuel crisis exists only in the city of Kobani”, pointing out that the crisis has recently increased after Eid al-Adha, noting that both diesel and gasoline are available outside Kobani on the international road ”Rodco”, as well as in the city of Raqqa.

Sheikho pointed out that both diesel and gasoline are available in the petrol station of the Autonomous Administration at prices as high as 125 SYP per liter of diesel, while these materials aren’t permanently available in the private petrol stations.

Vouchers
In turn, Muhammad Ali Bozan said: “The Directorate of Fuel has asked us to get special vouchers of petrol for cars to get gasoline, but gasoline hasn’t been available at petrol stations since Eid al-Adha.”

While Kahraman Khasho said that The Directorate of Fuel has issued cards and vouchers to solve the problem, but no avail.

Directorate of Fuel
To explain the reasons for the crisis in the fuel sector in Kobani, North-Press contacted the Directorate of Fuel, but its director Massoud Bouzi has refused to comment or make any statements.

It’s noteworthy that the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates Region met on Wednesday, and formed a special committee to solve the problem of fuel in the city.
