Aleppo – North-Press Agency – Dejla Khalil

The Turkish army stationed in northern Aleppo countryside and Turkey-supported Syrian Islamist groups (also known as Olive Branch forces) stationed in Kemar village of Sherawa district, in the region of Afrin, northwestern Syria, have bombed Soghana village, yesterday evening, wounding four people from one family.

“The Turkish army and its affiliates target the village from time to time in order to displace the local people of the village, which is not under their control,” as according to the civilians as they reported to North-Press.

Ramzi Barakat, a wounded civilian from the village of Soghana, told North-Press that he, his mother, his wife and his child were all affected by the shelling.

“The shells fell on us like fire, one fell in the middle of the house, causing injuries to all of us,” said Ramzi Barakat.

For her part, Kibar Barakat (50 years), another  wounded woman from the village of Soghana stated that she will not leave her house and her land no matter how heavy the shelling is, noting that the Turkish army and its affiliates are bombing  the village almost everyday, “A few days ago, they shelled the village with 53 shells, and most of the families left the village as a result.”

In turn,  Astervan Maamo, a nurse at Afarin Hospital  in the village of Fafeen in the northern countryside of Aleppo, explained that the wounded were hit by shrapnel in different parts of their bodies, “Ramzi Barakat and Kibar Barakat were affected by shrapnel in the head and hands, while Suzan Aliko (20 years) was wounded in her foot, in addition to one year old baby Mirvan Barakat, whio was hit in his head,” said the nurse Astervan Ma’mo.

In the same context, the Turkish military base in the village of Kemar was hit by several missiles, without any claim to adopt the bombing by any party.

Furthermore, the Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced the injury of two Turkish soldiers at the military base in Afrin, noting that the area of Tal Rifaat in northern Aleppo countryside, was the source of the missiles .

It’s worth mentioning that Turkey and its armed opposition groups took control of Afrin region on March 18 of last year, as fierce battles took place with the People’s Protection Units (YPG) for about two months, without imposing its grip on some villages of Sherawa district, which is under daily bombardment by the Turkish military.
