The people’s municipality in the town of Tal Tamr in the western countryside of Hasakah has started the process of rehabilitating the main bridge road known as the ‘Moftah al-Jazira’.

As the distance of the road to be paved is about 1 km from the beginning of the bridge to its end at the western entrance of the town.

The co-chair of Tal Tamr municipality Muhammad Khalo told North-Press that the process of paving the bridge is due to a large number of holes that threaten the collapsing of the bridge, where many trucks pass over the bridge on a daily basis, adding that the road “has not been subjected to any maintenance since 2011”.

Mr. Khalo pointed out that “the process of paving the bridge was included within the annual plan of the municipality, as well as paving other dilapidated roads in the town”.

The people’s municipality of Tal Tamr told North-Press that they allocated 5,000 cubic meters of asphalt to pave and maintain streets and roads in the town’s center.

Tal Tamr Bridge Road is a strategic route for the entire region in the north and east of Syria, as it’s a connecting link between the main roads in the western countryside of Hasakah, especially for its location on the international highway in northern Syria.

The Autonomous Administration of north and eastern Syria allocated SYP 42 billion to implement service projects in their areas, according to a working plan for the current year, which includes paving roads, the maintenance of bridges and sewage networks.
