Violent clashes broke out between the Syrian government forces and a Turkish-backed armed militia western city of al-Bab, northeastern Aleppo, amid reports of human casualties on both sides.

The fierce clashes were centered on the al-Degilbash axis, western al-Bab, between the Syrian government forces and National Army, Turkey-backed militia in the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch areas in northern Syria, as quoted by opposition media sources and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The clashes resulted in the death of two members of al-Hamza Division, a Syrian rebel militia affiliated with the Free Syrian Army, while at least one of the government forces was killed, while more than 10 members of both sides were injured.

The Turkish-backed Euphrates shield forces control the north-eastern parts of Aleppo governorate since 2016 after a military operation led by the Turkish army and other Turkey-backed Syrian Islamic militias against the Islamic State group (ISIS), as the latter controlled large areas of the governorate.

it’s worth noting that the axis of contact between Syrian government forces and Euphrates Shield witness intermittent clashes, accompanied with mutual shelling which causes human casualties in most cases.
