Hundreds of Syrian refugees return home amid increased internal displacement

The Syrian border crossings with the neighboring countries witness the return of Syrian refugees, at a time when areas in north-west Syria are witnessing large internal displacement as a result of the increased battles in the de-escalation zones.
The Russian Center for reception, distribution, and shelter for Syrian refugees announced the return of 1217 refugees back to Syria from several neighboring countries.
The center also confirmed in a published statement yesterday the return of 853 people, including 256 women and 435 children, from Jordan through the Jaber-Naseeb border-crossing, the key border crossing between Syria and Jordan.
While 364 people, including 109 women and 185 children, returned through the crossings of Jdidat-Yabus and Tal-kalakh from Lebanon.
The statement also showed the return of 175,295 refugees, including 52,620 women and 89,388 children, from Jordan through the Jaber-Naseeb border-crossing since 18 July 2018.
On the other hand, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock said in a speech at the Security Council on Syria on Tuesday, that “Since May 1st, the number of IDPs in Idlib has doubled,” he also pointed out that “Many of the displaced people from Idlib are forced to stay outdoors, and those who remained in towns and villages, live in shelters”, noting that there is “A humanitarian catastrophe in Idlib under the sight of the world, and children are paying a heavy price of the fightin
