North-Press Agency – Tirbe-Sipi
The Energy and Communications Office in Al-Jazirah District said that all of the affected power lines by the Tirbe-Sipi/Al-Qahtaniyah crops fire are being restored into service within a week.
The co-chair of the office, Ahin Sweid, told North-Press that about 30 power-supply poles were out of service as a result of the massive combustion, where the fire has burned 4 towers in Banouaah village, which are supplied by Al-Jaza’a power line, however, our staff replaced them, whereas four other poles were burnt in the main line of Tal-Maaroof village, which have not been repaired yet.
Thousands of hectares were completely burnt by the fire on Monday, including more than 20 villages in the countryside of Tirbe-Sipi.
Ms. Swede added that the “Qasrok” power-supply line was most affected in the fire, where 14 power towers were burned in Al-Sayid village, noting the difficulty of restoring them into service.
Two other towers were burnt in the villages of “Khuzimuk and Umm Hajeer”, as well as three towers in the village of “Bsheiriyeh”.
All electrical lines in the area of Tirbe-Sipi were cut off from 1 pm to 7 pm during the fire.
Ms. Swede also indicated that three electric workshops in Tirbe-Sipi, Tal-Koçer, and Çil-Axa are working intensively to repair the electrical failures in the mentioned area.
The fire lasted for all the day long on Monday morning until 8 pm and has reached the outskirts of villages of “Babasiya and Dayrouna” in the countryside of the Tirbe-Sipi in eastern Qamishli.
