No celebration of Eid in Jisr al-Shughur city

Happiness of Eid Al-Fitr is absent among the residents of Jisr al-Shughur city ,west of Idlib in north of Syria, because of land and air escalation campaign on Idlib and Lattakia countryside.

The region has witnessed an intensive escalation last month by the Syrian government forces and forces supporting it with all types of weapons, after a temporary pacification for several months following the Sochi agreement between Russia and Turkey.

Hassan Da’aboul, one of the city’s salesmen, said people have stopped buying and celebrating  Eid this year as a result of “fear of air force shelling.”

Omar Qaddah, a resident of Jisr al-Shughur city, said that there was a significant drop in the number of visitors to parks and gardens by 50 per cent “as a result of displacement towards safe areas.

Qaddah said that the bombing continued on the days of  Eid, unlike last year, there was a reduction in escalation which encouraged people to celebrate.

The child ,Ibrahim Hallaq, says that he was happy last Eid and celebrated with his family and with the organizations that distributed them gifts, but he says he did not see any of those in this Eid.

Most of the villages and towns of Idlib and Hama have witnessed a complete absence of Eid Al-Fitr aspects this year, because of the military campaign by the Syrian government forces against the two governorates.
