Demonstration in Afrin Because of Identity Obliterating
Afrin region, that is controlled by the Syrian opposition factions in the Turkish-backed ” Olive Branch Operation”, witnessed on Monday evening, a demonstration in Neroz square by displaced people from Damascus and its countryside, Homs, Aleppo and Deir Ez-Zour, against new decisions issued, as North Press reported.
The demonstrators held posters and chanted slogans “no to obliterate our identity”, in response to the Turkish government decisions and the local council of Afrin to cancel the offices of conducting the affairs of displaced people in the region.
They also rejected the policy of the local council, and the replacement of offices of the committees with Mukhtars (village chief) from Afrin, to facilitate issuing their identity papers.
The protesters complained about the Mukhtar’s lack of knowledge of the columns of the displaced people in Afrin, considering them “deployed by Turkey to implement certain policies inside Syria.”
It is noteworthy, that Afrin region and its countryside include dozens of displaced people from Syria, who came after the control of Turkish forces and “Olive Branch ” forces in March last year, after expelling its indigenous outside.
Furthermore, the Syrian Federation demanded, through recommendations to the Security Council and the United Nations, the returning of the displaced people of Afrin who are currently living in the camps of the Shahba area in the north of Aleppo, to their home land.
