Opening of the National Hospital in Raqqa
The Health Committee of Raqqa Civil Council opened on Monday the National Hospital in Raqqa to start its medical services for free.
The National Hospital Director in Raqqa, Dr. Kassar Al-Ali, told “North Press” that the National Hospital was rehabilitated “within six months by the Health Committee of the Civil Council and in cooperation with some NGOs.”
The hospital includes the Department of Emergency Surgery in all its forms, outpatient clinics, specialized clinics and surgical clinics, and the Department of General Care with /20/bed.
And the work will begin in the Department of Dialysis after a week.
The Department of Ophthalmology will be opened after the arrival of the devices, as the director of the hospital said.
Hussain al-Hammoud, a resident of Raqqa city, said the opening of the hospital was an excellent step, especially that the private hospitals are “very expensive”, pointing out that the people have to go to Damascus to receive treatment, particularly kidney patients.
The opening ceremony introduced a group of children with special needs from the Future Makers Team (a civil organization), who presented an artistic performances.
The Education Project Manager in Future Makers Team, Muhammad Al-Dakheel, explained importance of the hospital in providing the necessary medical services.
The hospital medical team had a successful 3-year- kid surgery during the past few days within the trial period prior to the opening.
It is noteworthy that the National Hospital in Raqqa was out of service as a result of the air strikes from the international coalition aircraft during battles between the Islamic State Organization and the Syrian Democratic Forces, which ended with the control of the latter over the city in 2017.
