(North Press) – The Syrian Prime Minister issued a decision on Wednesday obliging all those enter Syrian territory to exchange $100 or its equivalent in foreign currencies.
The decision was signed by Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous. Under the decision, Syrians and others are obliged to exchange an amount of $100 or its equivalent in other currencies when they enter Syria.
The decision indicated the exchange rate will be determined based on the publication of customs and aviation exchange rates, according to reports by the Syrian-government affiliated newspaper al-Watan.
The decision exempted minors as well as truck and public vehicle drivers.
The decision issued on Wednesday will be implemented starting in August.
The decision came after a proposal from the Syrian Ministry of Finance and a meeting of the Prime Ministry last Sunday.
