Distributing Summer Crops Seeds to Farmers in Hasakah

The Committee of Agriculture and Livestock of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria in the city of Hasakah has started distributing seeds of summer crops and trees to farmers with the continuation of distributing the fuel oil (diesel) as well.
Firas Mohammed, an official in the Agriculture Committee told North-Press that they’ve begun distributing summer crop seeds and trees to farmers, according to the annual agricultural plan of the agricultural system in al-Jazira region.
While farmers began to plant summer crops (vegetables and fruit trees) in addition to implanting cotton seeds immediately after the end of the agricultural season of wheat and barley crops in Hasakah.
The Directorate of Economy of the Autonomous Administration in Hasakah had already distributed about 253,000 liters of fuel to 611 farmers as the first batch of fuel, while the second batch is being distributed to farmers in the current days.
It’s worth mentioning that al-Jazira region in northeastern Syria is one of the largest agricultural areas in the country, as summer crops production comes at the second rank after the grain crops of wheat and barley.
