The markets of Altabqa keeping prices in Ramadan this year
So many people in Atabqah city in Syria prefer shopping and buying stuffs of Ramadan, such as food and drinks, in the afternoon before breakfast, in time the markets are keeping the prices as usual.
The living conditions in Altabqa ( the region adjacent to the Euphrates Dam Lake, 52 km west of Raqqa) witnessed a significant improvement over the past year, with the opening of the southern border crossing and the improvement of the electricity situation as a result of the dam maintenance works, which created an important and different condition for the neighboring areas and attracted the capitals to the region.
Ahmed Alnafi, a resident of Altabqa, told North Press that he wishes the security and stability would last, pointing out that he has come to the market before breakfast to buy his needs.
Furthermore, Ali Hussein Bekar considered Ramadan of this year was better than the last two years because of the mild temperature and reasonable prices.
Ramadan of this year marks two years of defeating ISIS by the Syrian Democratic Forces in early May 2017.
“Ramadan month this year is better than the previous years, because there is no war or siege.” Abduljabbar Sa’ado Haj Qaddour, licorice seller from Altabqa, considering the defeat of ISIS was of the most importance.
Moreover, Yaser AL’ali, a salesman of tamarind in the city pointed out that stuffs and goods are available in the markets “ although there is some rising in prices, yet, the situation of people is good and the security is stable.”
