“We are proud of the Kurdish cooperative work” – SDF commander Mazloum Abdi

(North Press) – Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander-in-chief Mazloum Abdi expressed his pride for the joint work of the Kurdish opposition parties in a tweet on Tuesday.

“We are proud of the joint work done by the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) and the Kurdish National Unity Parties.  Their efforts to reach an initial agreement is a source of joy,” Abdi tweeted in Kurdish. “We hope that this agreement is followed by a new one to guarantee the legitimate interests and rights of our people.”

Both Kurdish political blocs started the second round of their discussions aimed at converging their views days before.

Abdi announced the success of the first phase of the intra-Kurdish dialogue last May.

ENKS presidency board member Sulaiman Oso said last Thursday that the second phase of the intra-Kurdish dialogue includes “the economic, security, military and administrative partnership” on the basis of the 2014 Duhok Agreement between the People's Council of Western Kurdistan (Rojava) and ENKS.

The agreement, intended to lay down framework for the administration of the autonomous regions in northern Syria, was never realized due to disputes between the two signatories.
