Closed meeting to discuss the repercussions of Caesar Act

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Head of the Executive Board of Syrian Democratic Council, Ilham Ahmed, held a closed meeting of Raqqa Civil Council committees in the city’s cultural center, On Saturday, to discuss the political and economic repercussions of the Caesar Act on Syria in general and north and east Syria in particular.
After the closed meeting, the co-chair of Raqqa Civil Council Muhammad Nour al-Theeb told North Press that ” they discussed the political and economic developments that the region is going through, and the outcome of the Caesar Act and its negative effects on the communities, in addition to putting forwars solutions that would reduce the consequences of this Act".
Al-Theeb pointed out that a crisis management team was recently formed to monitor markets, shops and bakeries "in order to prevent monopoly by traders, especially items supplied by the Autonomous Administration , such as bread and fuel."
“The sanctions imposed by the United States of America on the Syrian government under Caesar Act, will have a significant impact on the living situation in Syria, but the Autonomous Administration will take actions to mitigate its effects,” said Ilham Ahmed, head of the Executive Board of Syrian Democratic Council in a previous statement to North Press.
Last week, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced the formation of an economic crisis management team to avoid the consequences of the sanctions which will be imposed on Syria under the U.S. Caesar Act, which is scheduled to take place on the 17th of this month.
