Political parties in al-Shaddadi demand the inclusion of Turkish-backed groups on the list of "terrorism"

Representatives of the political parties in the town of al-Shaddadi, 60 km south of Hasakah have called for the inclusion of Turkish-affiliated armed groups on the lists of terrorism, for their violations and crimes against the people of north-eastern Syria.
Mehdi al-Degheim, a member of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in al-Shaddadi, told North Press that Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups have committed "massacres against the unarmed civilians as destruction, killing, looting and the use of internationally prohibited weapons.”  

Al-Degheim called for the classification of the Turkish-affiliated armed opposition groups on the lists of terrorism, for their "massacres and violations against the peoples of the region", noting that the international community should shoulder its responsibilities and stand "seriously against these violations.”

 

While Fatima Awad, an official in Future Syria Party at al-Shaddadi office referred to Turkey’s goals of launching a military invasion against northeastern regions of Syria, saying: "Turkey aims to displace the indigenous people and commit massacres against local civilians of the region", calling for the inclusion of the Turkish-affiliated armed groups on the terrorism lists.  

Awad added: "The international community must include these groups on the global lists of terrorism, as they don't differ from other terrorist organizations such as the Islamic State (ISIS) and other groups.”

While Omar al-Ali, a member of the Committee of Future Syria Party in al-Shaddadi stressed that the military operation of Turkey and its armed groups resulted in committing many massacres against the peoples of the region.  

Al-Ali condemned the Turkish attacks and their armed groups in north-eastern regions of Syria, calling the international community to include the Turkish- affiliated groups on the terrorist list.

The Turkish military invasion in north-eastern Syria caused the displacement of more than 350,000 people from their original areas, in addition to the loss of hundreds of people for their lives.   

Since the beginning of their military operation, the Turkish-affiliated armed groups have committed several massacres against the local population, where on October 12, they brutally executed the Secretary-General of Future Syria Party, Hevrin Khalaf, with a number of civilians, in addition to the mutilation of bodies of the female fighters of Women's Protection Units (YPJ).  

 

Politicians and officials in north-eastern Syria confirm through its control over the areas of Sere (Ras al-Ain) and Tal Abyad (Gre Spi), Turkey aims at changing the demography of the region, by housing families from other regions in these areas.
