Circassians in Manbij demand stoppage of Turkish invasion in Syrian territories

In a survey conducted by North-Press in the city of Manbij, the Circassian component of the city has rejected the Turkish military invasion in northern Syria and considered it as a demographic change in the composition of the population aimed at the displacement of the indigenous people. Zahida Ishaq, the co-chair of the Social Relations Committee in Manbij said: "The Turkish attack targets all components and does not target a particular nationality or party, as evidenced by the killing of tens of civilians and the displacement of hundreds of thousands due to the Turkish operation".

She added that the Circassians are a key component of northern Syria and they reject this invasion, which seeks demographic change in northern Syrian. The Turkish regime seeks to resettle militants and their families of its affiliated armed groups in this region in order to form a popular base for it, because the indigenous people do not accept the Turkish intervention.

Muhammad Kabartai of the Circassian component, described the Turkish intervention as an invasion of the Syrian territories, saying that the invasion did not exclude any religious component nor belief, and targeted women, children and the elderly, and caused almost complete displacement of the areas where it’s invading.

He appealed to international organizations and the international community to stop the Turkish invasion and stressed that the areas invaded by the Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups were safe and vital before the invasion, causing a humanitarian disaster.
