"Idlib battle soon, Turkey threatens Syrian security" – Former military commander

The head of the Veterans Association in Latakia, Major General Rida al-Shariki said: "The battle to regain control over Idlib will not be long and will be rapid, and the presence of the Turkish milk on the Syrian territories hinders the resolution of the crisis".
The retired Major General Rida al-Shariqi told North-Press in a special statement that the Syrian government forces have combating experience to manage
the battle of Idlib, and that most obstacles will not hinder their ability to regain control of the region. He added that the humanitarian factor and population density are among the most important obstacles that delay the battle, in addition to the understandings that came in Astana and Sochi and Syria's commitments with its allies; however, the Maj. Gen. said that the battle of Idlib is coming in the near future.”
Regarding the Turkish military presence on the Syrian territories, al-Shariqi said that this presence is the first and the main obstacle to any solution, whether in Syria or even in northern Syria, which was recently invaded by Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups. In addition, the Turkish regime has formed an emirate in the governorate of Idlib, threatening the Syrian security. He went on to say: "This threat isn’t only for Syria; the Turkish president is constantly threatening to move his terrorists into Europe across his borders.”
He added that Turkey's ambitions have become clear, while it is not seeking a solution to a crisis that it was the main supporter of, arming, training and bringing the terrorist groups into a war with the Syrian state. Al-Shariqi stressed that civilians in Idlib are almost trapped and held by the Turkish military and its affiliated armed groups, a paper that the Turkish president will use to put international pressure to stop the battle.
The retired Syrian Army Major General and military expert Rida Al-Shariqi said that the Syrian and Russian forces have been long overdue in keeping the Turkish regime away from northern Syria, hoping to abide by agreements and understandings; however, it will continue to breach them by its affiliated armed opposition groups.
