Local residents of the north-western Syrian city of Latakia are unanimously condemning the Turkish military invasion in north-eastern Syria in a survey conducted by North-Press in the coastal city, they considered it an assault on the Syrian sovereignty and its territorial integrity.
The Turkish government has used the Syrian opposition groups to achieve its goals and ambitions within the Syrian geography, by supporting, training and arming these opposition groups, hiding behind the humanitarian file.
Turkey's interventions are not new to the Syrian state. It started from the first moments of the Syrian crisis, taking advantage of it to steal the country's wealth, such as Sheikh Najjar's industrial factories in Aleppo, and later occupying parts of north-western Syria by those armed groups that supported them, as Afrin, Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad will not be the end.
The local people of Latakia are aware of what the people are living and experiencing in north-eastern Syria, as they have long been bombarded by Turkish-backed armed opposition group, in al-Akrad and Turkmen Mountains and the district of Kassab.
Some likened this Turkish invasion to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and some of them condemned and called for the formation of popular resistance supporting the Syrian government forces in their work.
While most of people welcomed the Syrian government's entry into the east of Euphrates and an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces, calling for "more cooperation and coordination to curb the madness of the Turkish President Erdogan, and to prevent further bloodshed in Syria," they said.
They unanimously denounced the Turkish aggression, and they renew their confidence in the capabilities of the Syrian government forces to stop the attack on the East of Euphrates, which is rich in its internal, agricultural and water resources.
