People of Qamishli appeal against the Turkish threats

As soon as the White House announced the withdrawal of the US troops from some point on the Syrian-Turkish borders, northern Syria, the decision created a state of anxiety and resentment among the people of the northern region, in anticipation of an imminent Turkish military assault.

In a survey conducted by North-Press in Qamishli market, citizens appealed to the international community and the United Nations to stop the Turkish threats.
Ayad Salloum, a citizen told North-Press: “Regarding the threats, we want security and safety, we don’t want to create problems, we just want our country remains safe”.
The decision of withdrawal has generated resentment among citizens; Radwan Anjou, another resident said: “America has two faces, and this surely will harm the attackers in the region, as it harmed Afrin and other areas,” he continued “we saw how the people were displaced and even the trees and fields were affected, it’s an old hostility”.

The citizens of the city of Qamishli call on the actors and the United Nations to stop the Turkish threats, Saif Bahri said: “We appeal to the world and want to tell them that we as Kurds love peace and coexistence, we wish everyone could help to stop this attack on the region, since we are not advocates of war, but advocates of peace”.

Meanwhile, two batches of the U.S. forces withdrew at dawn on Monday from two posts in Sere-Kanyie (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad on the Syrian-Turkish borders in northern Syria, causing a state of anxiety and anticipation among the residents of the region.
