ISIS doctor freely practices his profession in opposition-held areas

“Afrin Post” news network has revealed the presence of an Islamic State (ISIS) physician in a hospital in the city center of Afrin.

The local network’s reporter has briefed that Dr. Ghassan al-Jamous, is practicing his profession in the private central hospital of Afrin, which was previously known as “Qanbar Hospital” in the center of the city.

Dr. Ghassan al-Jamous had previously pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group (ISIS) on social media, when he left the armed opposition groups in 2015, according to the news network.

The local reporter pointed out that al-Jamous has opened a private clinic near Sharia Secondary School in al-Qadima neighborhood, in Afrin. The Jihadi physician, who descends from Taybat al-Imam, northern Hama, is specialized in orthopedics.
While “Al-Quds Al-Arabi” newspaper has published in one of its reports that the doctor had joined the “hard-line” ISIS group in the eastern region of Syria, al-Badia and Deir ez-Zor.

Syrian and international human rights organizations accused the Turkish government of using ISIS affiliates in the battle of “Olive Branch”, in which the Turkish military and the armed affiliated groups had occupied the Syrian-Kurdish region of  Afrin, on March 18 2018.

A number of Afrin’s local activists had published videos showing ISIS banners and its long beard militants in Afghan dresses (the dress of the jihadists in Syria), chanting “jihadist songs” in several districts of Afrin.
