NE Syrian Administration hands two orphaned children of ISIS families to Austria

The Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria on Wednesday has delivered two orphan children of the Islamic State (ISIS) families, who belong to an Austrian ISIS militant, at Semalkah border-crossing that connects Northeastern Syria region with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Both sides, the External Relations Bureau of northern Syria administration and the Austrian Foreign Ministry delegation held a press conference at Semalkah crossing, northeastern Syria. As the two sides signed a document to hand over the town children to the Austrian government.

Fanar Kait, the deputy co-chair of External Relations Bureau, told North-Press that the two children were identified over the past few months, to be handed over to the representative of the Austrian Foreign Ministry. Kait acknowledged that Northeastern Syria Administration had appealed to several countries to perform its humanitarian and legal duty towards those children and women, noting that they have provided all the needed facilities for the delivery of children and women to their governments.

The Autonomous Administration of northeastern Syria has sent hundreds of ISIS children and women to their original countries, after long communicating processes with their governments, while many countries still refuse to return their citizens. Four weeks ago, Northeastern Syria Autonomous Administration had delivered four orphaned children to the German government.
While many demands have risen to set up an international tribunal to try thousands of ISIS members in northeastern Syria detentions centers.

According to Al-Hol camp official statistics, there are about 300 orphans of ISIS families currently in Al-Hol camp, 113 of whom are sponsored by humanitarian organizations in sections inside the camp, while the rest of them are adopted by ISIS families.
Al-Hol camp comprises approximately 71,000 IDPs and refugees, 11,000 of whom are members of ISIS families, who have been separated in a private section inside the camp.
