British Parliamentary Delegation visits the city of Kobani
The British Parliamentary Delegation visiting the north and east regions of Syria has arrived in Kobani on Wednesday.
The British delegation, headed by Simon Dobbins, the International Director of the British Syndicates Unions was received by Anwar Muslem, the Co-chair of the Executive Council of Euphrates Region and a number of co-chairs of the Executive Council in Kobani and some Institutions of the Autonomous Administration.
The delegation includes Ryan Fletcher, the head of communications and relations at the British Syndicates Unions, Ben Norman, a research officer and Claire Baker, the international relations officer.
Simon Dobbins said in a press conference that, “they support the establishment of an international tribunal in the region to prosecute the militants of ISIS”, noting that, “they are proud to visit Kobani to see the situation” pointing out that, they had earlier visited Kobani eighteen months ago”, and noticed the difficult situation which the region is witnessing and the challenges they face amid the weak capabilities”.
Dobbins pointed to the significant changes and developments that have taken place since then in the region, stressing on their solidarity with the people of the region.
On Monday evening, the British Parliamentary delegation visited the External Relations Bureau of the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria in Qamishli to know more about the requirements and challenges of the region.
The parliamentary delegation visited the headquarters of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the town of Ein Issa to meet the officials of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and the Executive Council in addition to its visit to the SDF General Command, and the meeting with the Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi, the Commander of Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) Newroz Ahmad and YPJ Public Relations official Nisreen Abdullah.
