Washington DC – North-Press Agency
The Director of the American Middle East Coalition for Democracy, Tom Harb said that the United States won’t allow Turkey to carry out its plans in the proposed safe zone, and in north and east of Syria, and that Turkey is seeking to turn against any agreement and to breach it.
Tom Harb confirmed to North-Press that the Turks are seeking to launch a unilateral decision to intervene in northern Syria region by attempting to breach any agreement, pointing out that “Turkey is seeking a clash with the Syrian-Kurdish forces to impose a security presence by its own in that area”.
Harb talked about that option by saying: “The U.S. won’t allow that, because it knows the intentions of the Turks, and what it would do in this region, if there is any security decision on the Turkish side”.
He also added that the agreement included the joint US-Turkish movements in order to prevent the latter from exploiting the security situation there.
While the Turkish President Erdogan confirmed that, he is seeking to “isolate or secure the bordering area of north and east of Syria for his own benefits”.
He believes that a number of European countries and the U.S. will adopt stances against Turkey, because they know the intentions of the Turkish regime headed by Erdogan in northern Syria, especially against the Kurds.
“Turkey will try to intervene in northern Syria and fight the local forces there, and it will create a new system in the region, where the US won’t allow that”, he concluded.
