Damascus strongly condemns conducting a US-Turkish patrol inside Syrian territories

An official source in the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to the Syrian News Agency (SANA) that Damascus condemns in the strongest terms the US administration and the Turkish government of conducting a joint patrol in northern Syria as a part of implementing the safe zone agreement, stressing that this is a flagrant violation of the international law and the sovereignty and integrity of the Syrian territories.
The source added: “Syria confirms that this step represents an aggression, and aims to complicate and prolong the crisis in Syria”.
The source said that Damascus recites its rejection of the safe zone, and stresses the determination to fail all projects targeting the integrity of Syria.
While this morning, the Turkish armored vehicles had entered the Syrian territories to conduct a joint patrol with the U.S. military in the agreed area to establish the safe zone there.
North-Press reporter indicated that the joint ground patrol went to the post of the village of Hashisha then to the post of Gewairan (30-35 km) east of Tal Abyad via the international road on the borders where the Syrian Democratic Forces had already destroyed two tunnels two days ago and had withdrawn its forces to implement the agreement in coordination with the U.S. forces, for the Turkish forces in order to check the area and to be assured that the tunnels were destroyed.
