The Syrian presidency reveals the ceasefire is temporary in Idlib

The Syrian media and political adviser Buthaina Shaaban said that the ceasefire in Idlib is not permanent; while the pro-government newspapers quoted Syrian opposition sources saying that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the Syrian Salvation Government (a de facto alternative government of the Syrian opposition, seated in Idlib governorate) would dissolve themselves under Turkish pressure.
Shaaban told al-Mayadeen TV that any cease-fire decision is in the service of the Syrian government to control the Syrian territories, and that the ceasefire in Idlib is temporary, pointing out that “what the terrorists have done in Idlib countryside is planned by states”.
Shaaban claimed that the agreement regarding the current cease-fire truce was a Russian-Syrian decision and had nothing to do with any understandings.
Shaaban also said that the upcoming events would embarrass the Turkish President Erdogan, noting that he has ambitions in Iraq and Syria and ties with the terrorist groups on the ground.
The Syrian presidential advisor stressed that the Turkish forces will leave the Syrian territories forcibly, especially after the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu’s talks about Turkey’s intention to withdraw its forces to reach a political solution in Syria.
Shaaban accused the Turkish authorities of lack of credibility in dealing with the de-escalation zones, and linked any achievements in the political process with the approval of the Syrian government.
She pointed out that Syria is trying to obtain the needs of its people for oil, but the authorities do not know where the Iranian tanker is heading.
These statements of the media and political advisor have coincided with a report by al-Watan newspaper about the dissolving of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham HTS (previously alQaeda’s affiliate al-Nusra Front) of itself, and the dissolving of the Syrian Salvation Government due to the Turkish pressure.
According to the newspaper and citing opposition sources, this dissolving was reached through negotiations between the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front and HTS, brokered by al-Sham Legion, which is the closest armed group to the Turkish government.
The negotiation process aims to dissolve the Syrian Salvation Government and hand over the administration to a new government, which is being formed by the National Liberation Front members.
The sources confirmed that the recent ceasefire agreement was a signal from Moscow to give Turkey a new chance to dissolve HTS, which was as one of the terms of the bilateral agreement between Putin and Erdogan, during the recent visit to Moscow.
The former leader of HTS, Saleh al-Hamwi, has published some 72 hours ago saying that the terms of the bilateral agreement are: “Dissolving the HTS by directing its members to the National Front with a time limited to achieve this, Dissolving the Syrian Salvation Government and establishing a new interim government that the countries can only support the areas that are under the influence of the armed groups”.
On Saturday, the Pentagon announced that the U.S. Air Forces launched an airstrike targeting a facility belongs to al-Qaeda north of Idlib, targeting the group’s leadership.
The Global Coalition fighter jets targeted by long-range missiles the military headquarters south of Idlib, which is affiliated with Ansar al-Tawhid, and was classified by the United States as a global terrorist organization.
The airstrike led to the collapse of the entire building, killing about 45, most of them are trained members, while injured more than 23.
