Final statement of Astana 13 preparing for a new round

The 13th round of Astana talks, which lasted for two days, ended on Friday in the capital of Kazakhstan Republic of Nursultan, as the round ended with a final statement that included outputs for action by the countries concerned with the agreement.

The statement set a date in October of this year, to hold the 14th round of Astana talks between the parties to the Syrian conflict.

On the other hand,  the final statement  stressed  on the growing concern of the countries involved in the Syrian conflict, as a result of the increasing terrorist actions of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham group (HTS) (Nusra Front formerly), as the statement emphasized the determination to eliminate the mentioned group as well as Islamic State group.

Moreover, the statement also stressed that the countries concerned expressed their opinion that there is no military solution to the Syrian issue. The parties stressed the need to continue the political process in Syria, with the support of the United Nations and the decisions of Sochi Conference.

The statement included the support of the Constitutional Committee, the need to increase support without preconditions, especially in the humanitarian field, with an invitation to the international community to increase the aids provided to Syria and to implement its projects, including demining project.

Furthermore, the statement stressed the importance of supporting the safe return of refugees and IDPs,  and guaranteeing their right of return, calling on the international community to provide support, with emphasis on cooperation with all parties concerned.
