At the invitation of the Syrian Democratic Council, two workshops were held in Europe, one in Paris and the other in Vienna, to explain the reality of the north and eastern regions of Syria and to build national consensus regarding the Syrian-Syrian solution.
Paris Forum was held on June 29, as about 25 Syrian opposition figures were present, while Vienna Forum was held on July 13 in the presence of some 30 opposition figures.

Regarding the objectives of these workshops, a member of Public Relations in the Syrian Democratic Council, Ali Rahmoun, a participant in those workshops, said at the third Syrian-Syrian Dialogue Conference held at Kobani/Ain Al-Arab, in the end of March that “the workshops came according to the decision of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), to make the areas of north and eastern Syria political attraction areas for Syrian opposition forces.”

Moreover, Rahmoun said in a statement to North-Press that a committee was formed to meet with figures from the Syrian opposition, in order to reach national consensus, regarding the Syrian solution, and “to clarify a lot of false information about  north and eastern Syria, where there is great confusion among some about what actually the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Syrian Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration are. Therefore, it should be made clear through these workshops. “

Rahmoun pointed out that independent national democratic personnel were invited, in order to agree on the mechanism of the Syrian solution that is in line with the perspective of the Syrian Democratic Council, which “emphasizes the unity of Syria and its people,  and overwhelming tyranny in order to reach a democratic national state of citizenship and law.”

Furthermore, the member of Public Relations in the Syrian Democratic Council Ali Rahmoun noted that they are seeking to be part of the negotiating process and they consider the meeting with national democratic Forces and figures as a first step, ” as there may be subsequent attempts to enter the negotiating body if feasible.”

Concerning the activities of the council in this context, Rahmoun explained that another workshop will be held in Germany in late August, with opposition figures, and will also communicate with the National Democratic Forces, in order to prepare for a democratic national conference, “to have a clear vision of the political solution, as there are very good consensus with a lot of opposition figures, ” as he said.
