Future Syria Party held a dialogue seminar titled: “The National Identity and Affiliation” yesterday evening at Muhammad Manla Ghazil Library in Manbij, northeastern Syria.

The leader of Future Syria Party, Ibrahim Al-Qaftan, spoke at the seminar on the various definitions of “Identity”, the difference among national, religious and native identity, pointing out to a variety of identities due to a permanent change.

In a statement to North-Press, Al-Qaftan said that the reason for choosing “National Identity” as the title of the seminar is to do researches on the roots of this problem to find out the reason of the constant fighting in Syria for eight years, stressing that the reason for this problem is “the loss of the native identity in the time of interest for narrow identity by the citizens.”

Al-Qaftan added that they wanted as a party, to clarify the slogan “native identity”, which was not discussed within the Syrian government for 50 years, noting that “native identity” is the true guarantor of all Syrian people and all other peoples.

The leader of Future Syria Party concluded the seminar by saying that “the party holds seminars on topics that hadn’t previously been discussed, as the majority of previous seminars were used to focus on the Arabian nationalism of the region, and it’ belonging to the Arab world, which are subjects within a narrow circle,” noting that they will have dialogues with all parties in these seminars aimed at dialogue and access to a stable state after the chaos occurred in Syria.

In his turn, Salah Al-Jumaa, an agricultural engineer, pointed out that societal education has a role in “native identity”, stressing that “the old education focused on the national identity, leading to the neglect of other nationalities, and thus, the old national identity was unreal and does not represent all of the people.”

For his part, Abdulrahman Al-Batran, a resident of the city of Manbij, called for “The adoption of the principle of citizenship so each person has his/her rights and duties towards his/her country, and at the same time all nationalities participate in establishing one common homeland where all can live in”.

Future Syria Party had earlier organized another seminar entitled “Terrorism and Extremism and their Impact on Society” at the Cultural Center in the city of Raqqa, northeastern Syria.

It’s noteworthy that Future Syria Party was established in the city of Raqqa on March 27, 2018, under the slogan “Democratic, pluralistic and decentralized Syria”, in the final statement of the conference, the party declared: “The formation of this party came on the basis of gathering all different segments and components of the Syrian people including their various nationalities, religions, and sects”.
