The French delegation meets the Self-Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council north of Al-Raqqa

On Monday morning, two separate meetings were held between the Democratic Self- Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council with a French governmental delegation visiting the region in the town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa.
The French delegation is led by Mariel de Sarnes, the External Relations Officer of the French National Council, as well as a number of French foreign officials and a researcher.
During the two meetings, the discussions revolved around the Syrian crisis in general and the status of detainees of the “Islamic State” Organization in the Self-Administration, focusing on the issue of establishing an international tribunal for the detainees of the Organization and the need to return them to their countries.
The delegation also discussed with the representatives of the Syrian Democratic Council the situation of northern and eastern Syria and confirmed on the need to expand the work and role of the Syrian Democratic Council in the coming period to participate in the political process to resolve the Syrian crisis.
On Friday, the French delegation visited Kobani / Ayn al-Arab city with the representative of the Self-Administration in Paris Khaled Issa.
The delegation’s tour included visiting the headquarters of the Women’s Protection Units in the town of Sarrin, a shrine for the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces south of Kobane, the visit of the Self-Administration headquarters in Kobane, the Baki Khaddo Center for Culture and Art, the Church of the Brethren and the military hospital. At last, the tour concluded by visiting the museum.
Ain Issa-NPA
