we plan to apply the scenario of Al-Ghouta and Aleppo to Idlib under Russian supervision: Syrian Official

A senior Syrian government official said they plan to implement Al-Ghouta and Aleppo scenario in Idlib under Russian direct supervision. 

He also stated that Russia “will not be silent” about Turkey’s support for the armed factions in the area which described it as “terrorist”.

The Deputy Speaker of the Syrian Parliament, Najdat Ismail Anzour, declared to the pro-government newspaper “Al Watan”, “the battle is on until the end in Idlib, Hama countryside, Aleppo and up to Latakia.”

Anzour revealed in his statements that there are similar scenarios to what happened in Al-Ghouta and Aleppo.

“This is what the Syrian army and its Russian ally are working on, despite the unlimited support of the Turkish regime for the terrorist organizations in order to make a difference in the fronts after the military incursion of the Syrian army into the northern Hama countryside.”

He reported, “Russia will not be silent on this Turkish support for terrorist organizations and Russia is, of course, an essential partner in the fight against it.”

But this does not eliminate the continuation of diplomatic action between the supporters of Astana, Russia, Iran and Turkey, and with Sochi agreement signers which dismiss the Turkish and delayed the implementation for months, Anzour said.

The deputy speaker also said he believed that the Kurdish and Turkish sides would not succeed in reaching an American-brokered agreement on a “safe zone” in the northeast of the country.
