Damascus Accuse of the Syrian Democratic Forces’ Crimes in Deir Ez-Zur Responded by Arab Clans
The Damascus-based Foreign Ministry said it had sent two letters to the United Nations and the Security Council on what it called “the massacre committed by the Syrian Democratic Forces” in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez-Zur, while the leaders of the Arab clans in the region confirmed the involvement of Damascus Government in inciting protesters, who demonstrated for improvement of living conditions.
The protests, which started on April 4, have witnessed a significant development recently, as some protesters carried arms and shot randomly in the countryside of Alsour.
“The Syrian Forien Ministry sent two letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council on the massacre committed by The SDF (the Syrian Democratic Forces) militias backed by the US coalition, in the city of Al-Sheheil in Deir Ez-Zur countryside.” SANA pro-government news agency reported on Monday evening.
Earlier, North Press published a report on 11 August about the developments in the areas of the SDF control, in which clans leaders and elders from the region accused Damascus Government of instigating the protests.
“The protesters went out to demand their rights not to vandalize or something. Most of the people here are in low material statue, and the concerned authorities promised them to provide them with services, but to no avail, which pushed the People to demonstrate and go out to the street ” said Ibrahim al-Hamad, of Alsour clan and a resident of Alsour town, east of Deir Ez-Zur.. “
“The protests are nothing more than a demand of the people for their rights,” he said, describing the arms carriers in the protests as “vandalizers”. According to Albakeer clan elder.
Mish’al al-Abdullah, co-chair of the village council of Alsour in the eastern village of Deir Ez-Zur, said that “the demands of the protesters are right because there is a lack of some services, yet, to hold a demonstration is wrong.”
To his opinion: “They were supposed to come to us in the councils, and we, in turn, would have submit their requests to the competent authorities to meet their requirements, but the disruption of roads is wrong. The fact that some international or regional parties exploit the protests to achieve other goals.
The commander of the special forces in Deir Ez-Zur Military Council, Muhammad Abu Ghazaleh, accused the Syrian Government of being behind the “confusion and the incitement of vandalizers” and support them “materially and morally.”
Relations between the Syrian Government and the Syrian Democratic forces have deteriorated recently after two rounds of negotiations late last year and early this year.
