Kuwait allocates $2.5 million to support humanitarian aid in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced on Friday a $2.5 million grant to the Syria Humanitarian Fund to support humanitarian response efforts.

The grant was provided under an agreement signed between the Kuwait Fund and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) as part of a $5 million aid package equally divided between the humanitarian funds for Syria and Afghanistan.

The Kuwait Fund said the agreement reflects Kuwait’s commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts and strengthening cooperation with the United Nations to help deliver assistance to the people most in need.
