Israeli forces enter Syria’s western Daraa countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two Israeli military units entered on Friday morning the village of Maariya in the western countryside of Daraa, advancing from al-Jazeera military barracks via al-Sawan road overlooking the village of Koya, a North Press correspondent reported.
According to the correspondent, Israeli military vehicles fired heavy bursts of gunfire over residential neighborhoods in Maariya and Koya during the incursion, causing tension among local residents.
The forces later withdrew along the same route they had used to enter the area, the correspondent said.No casualties or other human losses were reported.
