Deadly bus bombing hits Jaramana in Damascus countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Several people were killed and injured on Thursday evening after an explosive device detonated aboard a passenger minibus in the al-Rawda neighborhood of Jaramana, Damascus countryside.
North Press sources said the blast struck a public transport minibus, locally known as a service vehicle, while it was operating in the neighborhood.
The sources said the explosion caused multiple fatalities and injuries, though the exact number of casualties had not been confirmed. The wounded were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
A security source told the Syrian state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV that preliminary information indicated the blast was caused by an explosive device planted inside the passenger minibus.
The source added that security teams had launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and establish the exact nature of the explosion, while the relevant authorities continued assessing the damage and providing emergency assistance to the injured.
