Israeli forces conduct incursion in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Monday night raided several homes during an incursion into the village of Maariya in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa, southern Syria.
Local sources told North Press that the troops searched several houses but that there were no immediate reports of arrests.
They added that the Israeli force entered the village from the al-Jazeera military barracks located on its outskirts.
On July 29, Israeli forces shelled the outskirts of Abidin and Maariya villages in western Daraa with artillery.
Israeli military activity has intensified in Daraa and Quneitra countryside in recent weeks, with near-daily incursions that have at times included the establishment of temporary checkpoints, arrests and artillery shelling of several locations.
