Israeli forces arrest man in southern Syria’s Daraa
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces arrested on Tuesday a man from the village of Maariya in the western countryside of Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, according to local sources.
The arrest came one day after two children were injured by Israeli gunfire during an Israeli military incursion into the Yarmouk Basin area in western Daraa.
Local sources told Syrian state media that an Israeli military patrol detained a young man from Maariya on Tuesday morning while he was traveling toward the town of Jamla.
According to the sources, the patrol consisted of two military vehicles carrying approximately 12 soldiers.
The sources added that the man’s whereabouts and place of detention remain unknown. Following the incident, his family contacted the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in Jamla to inquire about his fate. UNDOF confirmed that it had documented the incident and is following up on the case.
