Israeli forces conduct new incursion into Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Monday carried out a new incursion into southern Syria, entering the village of Sayda al-Golan in Quneitra countryside, where they established a temporary checkpoint before advancing toward the al-Hanout area.
According to Syria’s state-run news agency SANA, the force, consisting of three military vehicles, stopped two shepherds and subjected them to field interrogations before withdrawing from the area.
The incursion comes days after Israeli artillery shelled farmland between the village of Bariqa and the town of Kodna in southern Quneitra, causing damage to agricultural land without reports of casualties.
Israeli forces have continued conducting incursions into the buffer zone in southern Syria since the fall of the al-Assad regime.
The operations have coincided with repeated airstrikes targeting military sites in the governorates of Quneitra, Daraa, and Damascus countryside, as well as ground raids, the detention of civilians, and the bulldozing of farmland in Quneitra.
