Israeli forces carry out new incursion into western Daraa

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces carried out a new incursion on Wednesday into the western countryside of Daraa governorate, days after a previous operation in Abidin village that was accompanied by tensions between an Israeli patrol and local residents.

According to local sources and eyewitnesses, the Israeli force entered Syrian territory through the Tal Abu al-Ghithar gate before advancing to the Sariyat al-Wadi military site in western Daraa countryside.

The sources said the patrol consisted of four military vehicles that remained inside the site for a short period before withdrawing.

No arrests were reported during the operation, and there were no raids on civilian homes, according to the same sources.

Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions into areas of southern Syria in recent months, particularly in Daraa and Quneitra governorates, following the political and security changes that have affected the region. Local residents have repeatedly reported military movements and temporary deployments near villages close to the disengagement line.
