Israel announces killing militants during operation in southern Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Israeli military on Sunday said that its forces had killed several armed militants during an operation carried out on Saturday inside what it described as a “security zone” in southern Syria.
In a statement, the Israeli army said it would continue military operations in the area, adding that the objective is to eliminate what it described as threats to Israeli civilians and its forces.
Meanwhile, Syria’s state-run al-Ikhbariya news channel reported that an Israeli military force consisting of six military vehicles advanced early Sunday into the Wadi al-Raqqad area, reaching the village of Jamla in the Yarmouk Basin of western Daraa Governorate.
According to the broadcaster, the force entered through the Tel Abu al-Ghithar gate before establishing positions at the former Jamla Company military site, also known as the Valley Company.
The report added that the incursion coincided with the deployment of another Israeli force to Tel al-Maghar, where troops took up positions on the hilltop, operated laser illumination equipment, and deployed snipers throughout the area.
