Two government soldiers killed in attack in Aleppo countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two members of Syrian government forces were killed on Friday in an attack carried out by unknown gunmen in an area of Aleppo countryside, northern Syria.

The Media and Communication Directorate at the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that “two soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army were martyred in a treacherous targeting by unknown individuals on the Aleppo-al-Bab highway.”

The ministry’s statement did not disclose any further information regarding the incident that led to the death of the two soldiers.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The Aleppo-al-Bab highway is a key route connecting Aleppo city to areas in the northeastern countryside, which have witnessed periodic security incidents despite relative stability in recent months.
