SDF, U.S. military leaders arrive in Deir Hafer, eastern Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Senior commanders from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), alongside U.S. military leaders, arrived in the town of Dayr Hafir in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, Syria.
A military source working with U.S. forces told North Press that the delegation includes a U.S. military commander and leaders from the SDF and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), among them YPJ commander Rohlat Afrin and SDF leader Chiya Kobani.
According to the source, the visit aims to de-escalate tensions between government forces and the SDF.
The US delegation will also inspect damage and sites that were targeted by shelling.
Earlier, a convoy of armored vehicles belonging to the Global Coalition and the SDF moved from the city of Tabqa toward Dayr Hafir.
