Israeli forces conduct two incursions in Quneitra countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Local sources reported on Monday that Israeli forces carried out two separate incursions into the village of Kodneh in the Quneitra countryside in southwestern Syria. These incursions come amid a broader escalation of Israeli military activity in southern Syria.
According to local eyewitnesses, a military convoy consisting of six Israeli vehicles entered Syrian territory within the ceasefire line, later withdrawing back toward the border strip. The second incursion occurred just hours after the first, with another Israeli patrol crossing into the same area via the same route.
The increased frequency of Israeli military movements in the region, particularly over the last two weeks, has drawn attention. This period has also seen heightened political rhetoric from Israeli officials, alongside significant military incursions. Notably, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently visited the demilitarized zone in southern Syria, further signaling an uptick in Israeli engagement in the area.
