Israeli warplanes breach Syrian airspace across multiple governorates
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli warplanes carried out intensive flights on Thursday, penetrating Syrian airspace over several provinces, stretching from the southern region to western Hama countryside, as well as areas in Latakia and southern Idlib countryside.
The flights came a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a field tour in the Syrian buffer zone controlled by Israel since late last year, accompanied by senior officials including the defense and foreign ministers.
The Syrian government condemned the visit, describing it as “a grave violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” Damascus stressed that the presence of Israeli officials in southern buffer areas constitutes a breach of international law and an escalation of tensions.
Local media outlets and social media platforms circulated videos and images claiming to show Israeli aircraft over southern Syria and above the central city of Homs.
The situation remains tense as Syrian authorities monitor further Israeli military activity, with no immediate indication of de-escalation.
