Unknown gunmen set fire to education facility in eastern Deir ez-Zor
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified armed men set fire on Tuesday to the Euphrates Education Complex, affiliated with the Education Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
A source from the Euphrates Education Complex told North Press that “unknown individuals stormed the complex at gunpoint and ignited fires inside, burning schoolbooks and other educational materials prepared for students in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.”
The source added that the flames quickly consumed the contents of the facility, including large quantities of textbooks. Firefighting teams later arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze.
According to the source, the attackers fled immediately after setting the fire, leaving behind significant damage to the educational infrastructure.
