Israeli military vehicles carry out new incursion in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Three Israeli military vehicles, accompanied by a surveillance drone, carried out on Monday morning a new incursion near the town of Saida al-Hanout in the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, heightening concerns among residents over the growing frequency of Israeli movements in the area.
Local sources told North Press that the Israeli forces entered agricultural land belonging to the Abu Madhra’a farm, conducting searches in several fields.
The sources said that no arrests were reported during the operation.
They added that the ground incursion was accompanied by the continuous overflight of an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft, further alarming local communities already wary of intensified military activity.
Residents say Israeli incursions in the rural areas of Quneitra and neighboring Daraa have become a daily occurrence in recent weeks.
The repeated movements have sparked rising anxiety, particularly as the Syrian transitional government has not taken practical steps to curb these operations.
Locals fear that the increased pace of Israeli patrols and surveillance may signal broader security shifts along the border, leaving communities uncertain about future escalations.
The border areas of Quneitra and Daraa have witnessed recurring Israeli military activity in recent years, often justified by Israel as efforts to monitor armed groups linked to Iran or Hezbollah near the Golan Heights.
These operations have included airstrikes, drone surveillance, and limited ground incursions.
Residents of southern Syria routinely express concern that such actions risk further destabilizing an already fragile security environment, particularly in areas where state control remains weak and local tensions persist.
